Hooray

For those who, like me, don't find the new Prime Minister (elect) as radical as we wish he were, think about it this way: it's not so much that we've gained a Kevin, it's more that we've lost a Rodent.

Double yay. And we've gained a Peter Garrett as Minister for the Enviornment and the Arts. I'm hoping that his gaffe about 'once we get in, we'll just change it all anyway' is what he's planning to do.

He may be a conservative softcock but he's our conservative softcock.

Kevin gives me the irrits, but Howard was even more irritating.

Hmm, I think that makes me feel better. But jeeminy, look how much they won by. If that doesn't convince young Kevin to 'change it all anyway', I can't think what will. The Libs are so despoiled that even Costello has taken a bow.

Zoe, the correct phrase is "he's a right tool, but he's the right tool for the job".

I have a feeling Garrett may not make it to the hand-picked front bench... it's all wonderful though.

Yeah, me too (on reflection) Meredith. Sigh.

EnCom sez... the absence of Ratty's whiny, yenty bleatings on morning radio is its own reward.

Pav, will you be posting anything on Auntie's Jane Ayre? Despite the limitations of the medium, do you think it captured much of the author's essence.

Oh dear! Please make that "Eyre" afore I'm wedged betwixt a rock and a hard place.
