Happy Fathers' Day ...

... to any fathers reading this; I'm just off to the family get-together myself. But to those who no longer have fathers, I hope you are remembering them kindly and not too sadly. I remember the first Mothers' Day after my mum died and it was a complete crock, so I've got an idea how you may be feeling.

Champagne is good, either way.

Champagne is always good. When we were packing up to move to Canberra and I - in a seven months pregnant frenzy of nesting AND moving - dropped the heater on my friend's toe and broke it we cracked the Very Special Bottle we'd been saving for ages. Doesn't taste worse just because things are a bit crap.

I hope your dad has a cracker of a day.

I was in a bar in Champagne once - I ordered a Kahlua and Milk, and they brought out the Kahlua and a big carton of milk, and were all like, well, the hell do you now...

Should have had champagne

I've just finished eating the Chillie con Carne I cooked for two of my sons for fathers' day (go figure), and am going to bed soon with a gutful of sensational Barossa shiraz.

Bruce the purr stole is draping herself on me, letting me know it's bed time.

Work tomorrow :(

I just read your essay in Heat 16/18? about blogging and thought I would check out your blog...

Father's day was a sad day for me, I lost my dad 7 years ago and no one seemed to rememebr on fatwers day - not even my husband - and I was too sad to even mention it until yesterday to him.

So if someone is quiet - don't forgewt their loss.
