For the Cherub Cat is a term of the Angel Tiger.

... For there is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest.

  1. I thought "Hey, that sounds like a line from 'rejoice in the lamb' only it's not." But it is from the Christoper Smart poem that Benjamin Britten used...it's a great work... I keep thinking of for the mouse is a creature of great personal valour

  2. They make that soft belly look so inviting and ruffle-able, and then so often rip into the hand that dares.

The MIL used to have a cat that would expose his tummy deliberately, just so he could rip your hand off. He was a lovely cat though.

  4. Yes, that is one very furry and much-exposed, much-stroked tum. But there is no ripping off of hands -- the only time she ever hurts me is non-deliberately, digging her claws in to get a better grip when draping herself around my shoulders like a fox fur.

Everyone seems to have either sung or heard that Britten but me. It's fabulous, isn't it.

  6. Yes!

The reddy-orange bits of tortoiseshells really are referred to as 'pink', apparently. The marble cake illusion is helped along by the swirliness of that long tummy fur, too.
