  1. Looks more and more like a place I could visit if the Falcon could make it.

    Regards

  2. Parisian Cowboy, may I say you have excellent initials as well as very good taste.

FXH -- Heh. You wait till I get down to the docks (3 minutes away) with the Canon and start taking pix of the haunted pubs from the 1840s. (Or the big ocean-goings at Outer Harbour. Or the sandhills they used to keep finding murdered prostitutes in in the 1960s.)

One of them (the pubs not the prostitutes) still does a lamb's fry and bacon or roast of the day pub lunch for $6.50, which strikes me as a very Cliff Hardy sort of thing.

  3. The site's ok in Opera now. Weird. As you were. Carry On Blogging.

Last Cliff I read he was sipping Stellas and Chardonay occassionally.

Standards slip. The centre gives way. The urgers prevail.

  5. his main allies are a small but perfectly formed investigative television journalist and a young female police whistleblower

I assume Cliff (nearly) gets his just rewards?

How old is Cliff anyway? Too bloody old for this caper. Still no super. No marketable skills. What's a bloke to do.

    No, absolutely not.

  7. The small but perfectly formed etc is a bloke and the other one ... I can't remember what her story is, actually. (When you read four novels a week you have to empty all the plots out of your memory immediately to make room for the next lot.) But Cliff is not on the market for the moment. Can't say why or it'll give away the plot.

  8. Oh no I'll bet his journo g/f is whacked. That's why he's bitter, angry and all skinned knuckles this time.

He should swap emails with Dave Robicheaux.

I'd send Cliff on a holiday. Get away. To USA. A small town. Relax. New Iberia.

  10. oh no- I finally found a copy of the new Cliff Hardy. Uncanny guesses. Either I'm chanelling Corris or my life resembles Hardy's too much.
