There are some choices you just shouldn't have to make

Saturday, 9.42 pm: Stephen Fry on Parkinson or the RockWiz duet with Eddi Reader and Liam from Hothouse Flowers?

Thank God I know how to work the VCR.

How divine was that duet? Gotta love Glasgow and Dublin. (And Liverpool.) I particularly loved the way they went off into a sort of Van Morrison chant at the end.

Rockwiz won in this house (though we should have been OUT - but then as The Age tells us - staying in is the new going out).

Watching Parky on saturday night just makes me feel too old.

Yes, Rockwiz also won for me. Though I had to look online to tell FrauleinDrDr the name of the original Eurovision-winning track by Hothouse Flowers ... and discovered (whoops) that piece of knowledge was completely wrong. The wikipedia entry which, I'll take as gospel for the moment, reveals that Hothouse Flowers weren't actually contestants but that their great song, 'Don't Go' was played during the scoring interval. The winner that year (1988!!!) was Celine Dion!!

Not as quick as you PC on the vcr record button, I at least saw Bette Midler on Parky - she was fun.
